Dec. 19-21: Averaged 17.3 points and 10.3 assists in six games as the Panthers rolled undefeated to the championship in the first Yokota High School Christmas Classic basketball tournament for girls last month.
Ettl, a senior, scored 19 points and dished out 14 assists in the championship game as the Panthers outlasted Kadena of Okinawa 45-42 in a rematch of last season’s third-place game in the Far East Division I Tournament. Yokota is off to a 12-0 start, best under coach Paul Ettl’s reign.
“When we need a pass delivered to the right spot or a clutch basket, that usually comes from No. 10,” the elder Ettl said. “She’s not afraid to handle the ball in any situation and she always steps up.”
