VICENZA, Italy — David Vidovic ran for 308 yards and scored four touchdowns Friday night to keep the defending Division II champion Hohenfels Tigers unbeaten with a 33-26 victory over Vicenza.

Vidovic, a senior running back named Stars and Stripes football Athlete of the Year a season ago, helped his team take a 21-6 lead at halftime.

Clayton Pinhero completed five of eight pass attempts for 101 yards, trying to give the Tigers some balance on offense.

The Cougars, who lost their second straight game after a 3-0 start, battled back behind quarterback Mario Molina. He carried the ball 13 times for 175 yards and scored twice.

Dillon Williams anchored Vicenza’s defense with 16 tackles, while Marcus Dudley had nine tackles and two interceptions for Hohenfels.

Both teams will participate in the D-II quarterfinals next weekend and await the results of Saturday’s games to determine their opponents.
