VICENZA, Italy -- The Vicenza Cougars scored all of their points after halftime in a 20-6 defeat of the visiting SHAPE Spartans in each team's 2016 DODEA-Europe football opener.

Quarterback Ta'marion Hardin paced a balanced offensive attack for the home team with 89 rushing yards and 55 passing yards. John Silbaugh posted 59 yards on the ground and caught a 20-yard reception, while Mason Suarez posted 57 rushing yards.

Christian Williams paced the Vicenza defense with four and a half tackles.

The teams open their respective regional schedules next weekend. Vicenza welcomes South region foe Aviano, while SHAPE visits North region opponent Bitburg.
