MONS, Belgium – The visiting Vicenza Cougars kept their undefeated season intact Saturday with a grueling 20-10 victory over the host SHAPE Spartans.

Vicenza guaranteed itself a winning season by improving to 3-0 on the five-game regular season. But the Cougars’ toughest tests remain – they’ll visit Naples next weekend and host defending champion Vicenza on Oct. 10.

SHAPE remains a fringe playoff contender despite the loss. The 1-2 Spartans have played well in losses to Naples and Vicenza, holding each team to 20 points, and can finish above .500 with wins over Alconbury and International School of Brussels.

The Spartan defense was effective in defeat Saturday. Christian Bryant made 15 tackles, Reginald Kirklen, Ignacio Gamboa and Pablo Pereria added 10 apiece and the team totaled two interceptions and a blocked punt.

No statistics or scoring information was available for Vicenza.
