The next generation of DODDS-Europe girls basketball stars just couldn't wait its turn.

Non-senior players occupied eight of the 10 roster spots available on the 2014-15 All-Europe first team, announced this week by DODDS-Europe athletic director Karen Seadore. The squad included five juniors and three sophomores surrounding seniors and repeat All-Europe selections Emily Campbell of Black Forest Academy and Cierra Martin of Wiesbaden.

Martin was accompanied on the first team by Catherine Klein, her junior frontcourt mate with the two-time Division I champion Wiesbaden Warriors. The runner-up Ramstein Royals placed their backcourt on the first squad, meanwhile, in junior Desiree Palacios and sophomore Ashley Mateo.

Eliyah Tillman of Division III champion Baumholder, the recently-named Stars and Stripes girls basketball Athlete of the Year, and Grace Phillips of AFNORTH joined Mateo as sophomore selections.

The first team included six players from the newly-expanded Division I ranks, including Patch's Treshon Jenkins and Vicenza's Emma Knapp among the Warrior and Royal duos.

First-team forward Saoirse Matthews of Bitburg headlined three selections from the Division II champion Barons. Sophomores Elise Rasmussen and Alexa Landenberger made the second team for Bitburg.

Wiesbaden matched that three-player haul as senior guard Rebecca Russell was named to the second team.

Seniors were well-represented on the second team, claiming seven of the 10 spots. Aviano's Jasmine Cole, BFA's Hannah Harrop, Hohenfels' Shelby Atkinson, Hohenfels, Lakenehath's Adrianna Ruffin, Lakenheath, Naples' Jessica Wheeler and Sigonella's Sydney Moore made the cut.First team F Grace Phillips, AFNORTH (Soph.)
