Unbeaten Ramstein keeps Kaiserslautern winless

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany - In what Ramstein coach Carlos Amponin called a “total team effort,” the Ramstein Royals downed the visiting Kaiserslautern Red Raiders 48-7 in a Division I game.

Robert Navarro ran for two first-quarter touchdowns in the romp which Ramstein led 41-0 at halftime. The second half was played using a running clock.

C.J. Amponin and Santee Jackson ran for their first touchdowns of the season, helping Ramstein complete an unbeaten 6-0 run through the regular season. Kevin Johnson also tallied for Ramstein.

The Royals, who got a special teams TD when Tyler Rood blocked a K-town punt and recovered it in the end zone and a defensive tally when Jae Oh returned a Kaiserslautern fumble 58 yards for Ramstein’s lone second-half TD, will host Bristol Academy in this week’s Division I semifinals.

Joshua McGown ran 40 yards in the fourth quarter for the only TD for Kaiserslautern, which completed its season 0-6.
