MONS, Belgium - The host SHAPE Spartans opened their DODDS-Europe Division II football campaign Saturday with a 49-0 shutout win over the combined team from Menwith Hill and Woodham.

Running back Seth Cain carried 15 times for 106 yards and Brett Cain completed four passes for 51 yards and two touchdowns as the Spartans cruised to the win behind a dominant offensive line.

Noah Bradsher led the SHAPE defense with 12 tackles, while Brett Cain was among four Spartans to snatch an interception.

The game was a challenging debut for the overmatched visitors, Division II's newest member and a combination of two schools that played nine-man football in the now-defunct Independent League last season.
