An anticipated grudge match and championship-game rematch devolved into a discouraging mismatch Friday night at Kaiserslautern.

The defending Division I European champion Ramstein Royals trounced the host Raiders 57-33 in each team's last game before the holiday intermission, reaffirming their status as the team to beat with another win over the team it beat to win that title.

Kaiserslautern stayed close through halftime, trailing by just a point at the break. But a 20-8 third-quarter edge set off a rout for Ramstein.

Ramstein's Kendell Allen scored 14 points to lead all scorers, while Malik Cannon added nine for the Royals. Markell Johnson and Jayden Jones notched nine apiece for the Raiders.

Ramstein, despite an almost entirely new rotation, enters the break with a 3-0 record, all earned against Division I opponents and all by double-digit margins. Kaiserslautern is 2-1 overall.

Brussels 56, AFNORTH 32: Friday at Brunssum, Netherlands, the visiting Brigands scored 20 second-quarter points to pull away from the Lions.

Michael DeFazio scored 21 points and Dominick DeFazio added 15 to provide the lion's share of Brussels' total. Logan Harless led AFNORTH with 12 points.

Brussels enters the holiday break with a 3-0 record. The Division III squad swept Division II Bitburg last weekend before dispatching Division II AFNORTH on Friday.

Bitburg 48/61, Alconbury 8/34: At Bitburg, the Barons evened their season record at 2-2 with a pair of routs.

Kevin Morrison was a consistent offensive force for the Barons, scoring 11 points Friday and a game-high 12 on Saturday. DeJhon Williams scored 12 to pace Bitburg in Friday's win.

Adarius Gallon scored 10 points and made five steals as Alconbury turned in a far more competitive effort Saturday. Bitburg's Eli Canaan had eight points, 13 rebounds, five steals and two blocks to help turn away the Dragons' advances.

Naples 59/62, Vicenza 29/37: At Naples, the host Wildcats twice dispatched the rival Cougars.

Terrell Staten proved unstoppable offensively for the home team. The guard scored 27 points Friday and 23 more on Saturday.

Naples pulled ahead with dominant first-half stretches in each game. A 24-point first-quarter outburst set off Friday's rout, while a 26-point second quarter fueled Saturday's sweep-clinching victory.

Black Forest Academy 47/37, Baumholder 16/29: At Kandern, Germany, the host Falcons survived a second-day Buc resurgence to earn the sweep.

Wings Noah Greathouse and Jonah Greathouse carried the offensive load for BFA. Noah led all scorers with 17 on Friday, while Jonah chipped in 16; Jonah notched 18 and Noah added eight on Saturday. Kaden Proctor dominated the boards throughout for the Falcons with a combined haul of 28 rebounds.

Nathaniel Horton scored 18 points Saturday as the Division III Bucs presented a far stiffer challenge for the Division II Falcons.
