RAF LAKENHEATH, England - Junior wide receiver Tyler Hughes caught two touchdowns passes, junior tight end Drake harness pulled in a third scoring toss and senior quarterback Dylan LePage ran for a 3-yard TD as the unbeaten Ramstein Royals romped to a 44-7 road victory Saturday over the Lakenhath Lancers.
The victory, which saw Ramstein (5-0) rush for 225 yards and pass for 154 more, clinched the No. 1 seed in the Division I semifinals for the Royals. They’ll host the No. 4 team in the league on Oct. 27.
Lakenheath fell to 1-4 in spite of an 11-for-14 day which produced 123 yards and a touchdown by quarterback Alex Asbury. Nick Winkie grabbed three of those passes for 44 yards and the TD; his teammate Glenn Jones had 58 yards receiving, according to Lakenheath coach Matthew Martinez.
Lakenheath is scheduled to end its regular season Saturday at Patch; Ramstein is to host winless Kaiserslautern the same day.
