MENWITH HILL, England – Chris Armstrong ran in a 10-yard overtime touchdown Saturday to give Menwith Hill/Woodham its first DODDS-Europe Division II victory, a 16-10 defeat of visiting Baumholder.

The extra-session game-winner was a nice bookend for Armstrong, who put Menwith Hill/Woodham on the board in the first quarter on a 15-yard touchdown run.

Baumholder running back Anthony Amos scored in the second quarter to tie the game at seven, and the teams exchanged second-half field goals to force overtime. Josh Penny nailed a 32-yard kick for the home team in the third quarter, to which Terence Wilson responded with a 27-yard fourth-quarter kick for the visitors.

Armstrong’s decisive run came on Menwith Hill/Woodham’s first play from scrimmage in overtime after stopping the Bucs on downs.

The combined Menwith Hill/Woodham squad, comprised of two teams that played nine-man football in the short-lived Independent League last year, celebrated its homecoming on Saturday.
