Heidelberg's White scores on offense, defense

HEIDELBERG, Germany - Danny White ran for two touchdowns and registered two safeties Saturday to lead the Heidelberg Lions to a 26-8 Division I victory over the visiting Lakenheath Lancers.

White, who also kicked a field goal and two extra points, rushed for 74 yards in the game which the Lions led 10-0 at halftime, according to Heidelberg coach Larry Daffin. White’s teammate Andre Brown topped the rushing charts with 24 carries for 132 yards.

Ryan Hoyt added the Lions’ other TD on a 46-yard punt return.

Brown, with five tackles,  led the defense for Heidelberg (2-2), which is to host Wiesbaden on Saturday.

Lakenheath (1-3) struck for a consolation TD in the final period on a 20-yard pass from A.J. Ransom to Glenn Jones, and a two-point pass by the same combination. The Lancers are scheduled to host unbeaten Ramstein on Saturday.
