Freshman QB leads Filton past Lakenheath

BRISTOL, England - Freshman Andrew Mepsted passed for 102 yards and a touchdown Saturday as the Filton Pride (1-1) handed Lakenheath its second loss of the season, 34-20.

Ryan Nestor hauled in the 55-yard TD pass for Filton, which got rushing TDs from Nicky Farrell, Denzell Harmitt-Alexander and Tunde Akindele.

Will Crowfoot returned an interception for the other TD for Filton, which is scheduled to host Heidelberg on Saturday.

Lakenheath (0-2), which is to host winless Kaiserslautern on Saturday, benefited from 109 passing yards and two TD passes to Nick Wenkze from quarterback Alex Ashbury. Xavier Thompson ran the ball 17 times for 96 yards.
