STUTTGART, Germany – CeJay Ferguson might have had a little bit more to play for than most of those competing in the Stuttgart Christmas Tournament.

The 18-year-old Patch senior, deemed ineligible to play for the Panthers this year after playing on the school's last two championship teams, was named tournament most valuable player Monday after leading his Rot Weiss Stuttgart club team to a 43-33 victory over Kaiserslautern for the championship.

The three-day basketball tournament, considered an unofficial part of the DODDS season, featured a handful of DODDS teams as well as German youth teams.

Daniel Eisenhardt had 17 points and Ferguson nine in the championship game. Kaiserslautern’s Caleb Chastain and Jeremy Morgan combined for 20 points in a losing cause.

Ferguson’s classmates at Patch took third, defeating Wiesbaden 55-39. Alec Basgall (17) and Pablo Paradis (10) led the way. Niland Fabrice paced Wiesbaden with nine. Ramstein took fifth by beating Lakenheath 45-24. Spencer Wright led Ramstein with seven and Joey Hooten had nine for Lakenheath.

Kaiserslautern reached the championship game by defeating Patch 47-43 in the semifinals behind 24 points from Morgan. Ferguson had 14 points in Rot Weiss’ 48-26 victory over Ramstein in the other semifinal.

Rot Weiss was unbeaten during the tournament. Its closest game was a 42-40 victory over Wiesbaden in pool play Saturday.

Ferguson and Eisenhardt were named to the all-tournament team along with Kaiserslautern’s Morgan and Malik Tillman, Patch’s Holten Sparling and Colin Whitten, Wiesbaden’s Tim Cuthbert and Ramstein’s Isaac Moreno.
