A 2011 All-European, 5-11, 260-pound Rahim Beatty, leads a group of 22 lettermen back for 2012, according to head coach George, who’ll be chasing his 11th European title and seventh at Ansbach. Also included in the group are senior quarterback Jake Vorhees and Heidelberg transfer Austin Benton, a junior running back, along with linemen Chris Nunez, a 280-pounder, and Josh Pleake; receiver Xavier Cage; tight end Jose Fuentes, and running backs Demar Flake and Kevin Rouse, both seniors.
Starting the season by hosting muscular Bitburg has captured his team’s attention, George said recently, and closing the regular season at Naples, largest school in the division, should focus the Cougars for the playoffs, Ansbach’s customary destination in the postseason.
