RAF MILDENHALL, England – An American teen-ager took seventh place in her category at the British Solo Ice Dance Championships 2014 earlier this month.

Juliana Drozd, the 14-year-old daughter of a U.S. Air Force exchange officer in England, scored 47.52 in the Advanced Novice Ladies Competition at Sheffield, England. She competed against 20 contestants, according to a list published June 26 by the National Ice Skating Association of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Overall scores were determined by performance in European Waltz, Blues and free dance. Drozd trains in Oxford. Emily Rose Brown, who trains in Sheffield, won the competition.

Drozd finished 14th in the same competition a year ago. She lives in Shrivenham, England, and is a student at Faringdon Community College in Oxfordshire.
