AFNORTH football preview capsule
AFNORTH Lions
Head coach: Greg Blankenship
Last year: 0-4, missed playoffs
Key games: Oct. 6 at International School of Brussels, Oct. 13 vs. SHAPE
It’s a no-brainer for the Lions to air it out in 2012, emails AFNORTH coach Greg Blankenship.
“Daniel Cordova is a solid quarterback with a good arm and will give
AFNORTH a chance to compete with Schweinfurt, SHAPE, and ISB because of an outstanding trio of receivers returning to AFNORTH in 2012. Densier Carnes is a 6-4 athletic receiver capable of All-Europe numbers this season, Victor Black is 6-3 and hard to stop after the catch in an open field, and Oguzan Yibici is a 5-10 quick slot receiver with great hands.”
Although All-Europe linebacker Tony Legare will be playing in Canada this season, AFNORTH expects senior returnees Luke Narug, Ryan Patten and Aldon Pagio to hold the fort defensively.
