In May, Ramstein won both the DODDS-Europe Division I baseball and softball championships. Now the Royals are reaping the postseason awards.

No fewer than 11 Ramstein baseball and softball players are included in the 2015 edition of the annual All-Europe teams, announced Monday by DODDS-Europe Athletic Director Karen Seadore. The Royal haul includes six baseball players and five softball players.

On the baseball side, Ramstein gobbled up four of the 12 first-team roster slots as recently named Stars and Stripes baseball Athlete of the Year Ben Ciero, fellow senior Antonio Ortiz and juniors Woody Woodruff and Jonathon Oswald made the squad.

Royals Brittany Crown, Kristina Poe and Sierra Nelson made the All-Europe softball first team.

The trio of Ramstein selections headlined an unusually young group of softball honorees that included just six seniors among the 24 chosen players. The two teams included four freshmen, including first-teamer Crown, and eight sophomores, including Poe, Nelson and 2015 Stars and Stripes softball Athlete of the Year Elana Montanez.

Division II/III champions in both sports were recognized with multiple All-Europe nods.

Small-school softball champion Aviano placed two-way standouts Shamera Lane and McKenzie Milligan on the first team. In baseball, freshman Zach Heisler and senior Estevan Gallardo made the cut for Rota.

Vilseck, the Division I runner-up to Ramstein in both baseball and softball, placed five combined players on the teams, including four first-teamers. Patch, a semifinalist on both fronts, earned seven total selections.
