ARLINGTON, Va. — The 4th Military World Games will be held in Hyderabad, India, from Oct. 14-21, 2007, according to Italian Brig. Gen. Gianni Gola, head of the International Military Sports Council.

The CISM, as it is known, holds its world games every four years, using the same rules and regulations that govern the Olympic Games.

About 25 percent of Olympic medals are won by military athletes, Gola said last week.

Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, the CISM has 127 member countries and sponsors annual competitions in about 25 individual sports, such as the Military World Boxing Championships, being held in Warendorf, Germany, from Sept. 17-23, and the Military World Taekwondo Championships, which are being held in Seoul, South Korea, from Sept. 19-24.
