Mark Patton
Mark Patton joined Stars and Stripes in 2009 and is based in Wiesbaden, Germany. He attended James Madison University on a swimming scholarship and studied mass communications. He has served as a signals intelligence specialist and later a public affairs noncommissioned officer in the Army, where he spent two tours in the Middle East. His most recent assignment was with the 1st Armored Division where he deployed to Tikrit, Iraq, and was awarded a Bronze Star Medal. He presently reports from the Wiesbaden bureau at McCully Barracks in Wackernheim, Germany.
