Chiyomi Sumida
Chiyomi was born and raised in Hiroshima, Japan. She joined Pacific Stars and Stripes in 1990. She specializes in covering Japanese and Okinawan government agencies and also serves as an Japanese-English translator for the newspaper.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies from University of Maryland. She has an Associate of Arts in English Literature from Notre Dame Seishin in Hiroshima.
