Sapporo, Japan, February, 1971: Fourteen-year-old figure-skating prodigy Dorothy Hamill of Riverside, Conn., takes third place at the International Winter Sports Week competition. Hamill went on to win the U.S. championship in 1974, 1975 and 1976, and brought home a gold medal from the 1976 Olympics at Innsbruck.
