Essen, Germany, October 20, 1967:
A German child reacts with delight at the sight of dozens of cartoon figures lighting up Essen's center during Lichtwochen, or Light Week. The theme for 1967 was Fairyland, with such favorites as Mickey Mouse, Red Riding Hood and Snow White adorning the streets of the industrial city in Germany's Ruhr region.
