Tokyo, May 25, 1966: David Douglas Duncan, one of the most celebrated photographers of the 20th century, poses during an interview at the Imperial Hotel. Duncan chronicled World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, and his other well-known efforts include coverage of the 1968 political conventions and an inside look at artist Pablo Picasso and his work. Duncan's ability to come up with the great shot dates back to his college days, when he photographed a man with a suitcase fleeing a burning hotel in Tucson only to find out later that the man was bank robber John Dillinger.
