Frankfurt, Germany, September 11, 1968: Shirley Temple Black, in Europe on a campaign to encourage the two million Americans living there to vote, talks to the press at the Intercontinental Hotel. As a child movie star, her popularity was such that President Franklin Roosevelt commented, "as long as our country has Shirley Temple, we will be all right."
