Yokota Air Base, Japan, May 5, 1989: Vice President Dan Quayle looks for a way around the defense during a pickup basketball game between his staff and a group of servicemembers. Quayle was on his way back to the U.S. from a diplomatic trip to Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand when he made the brief early-morning refueling stop at Yokota.
