Panthers rout another foe to stay perfect
Stars and Stripes’ 2011 female player of the year Janelle Loney continued to add to her legacy Saturday in propelling the defending European Division I champion Patch Lady Panthers to a 51-21 conquest of the visiting Bamberg Lady Barons.
Loney, who posted a triple-double – 19 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals – in Patch’s 55-24 victory over their D-III guests on Friday, made it a quadruple-double on Saturday – 20 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 11 steals. She also blocked four shots on Saturday, raising her weekend total in that department to seven. Her 10-assist outing on Saturday gave her 18 dishes for the weekend.
Johanna Quinn, who posted a double-double on Friday with 16 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, added 14 points and seven rebounds to Saturday’s victory, the 14th straight for Patch dating to last year’s successful European tournament run. Patch is 10-0 overall and 8-0 in Region III this season.
Bamberg fell to 2-8, 2-7 in spite of three 3-pointers canned by Loleen Tomokane. She led Bamberg with nine points. Natesha Godbee topped Bamberg’s scoring on Friday with 11 points.

Vilseck 41, Wiesbaden 26: Saturday at Vilseck, Sharmil Whyatt’s double-double – 14 points and 12 rebounds – paced the Lady Falcons to a non-regional split against a potential opponent later this month in the European Division I tournament at Wiesbaden.
Whyatt, who grabbed eight rebounds in Friday’s 37-27 home loss to Wiesbaden, topped the scoring and rebounding lists on Saturday as Vilseck improved to 6-4 overall. Wiesbaden, led by 13 points and seven rebounds by Meghan Smith, is 8-4 for the season.
SHAPE 48, Menwith Hill 20: Saturday at Menwith Hill, Gina Rhett scored 20 points and made four steals to complete a Friday-Saturday sweep of their D-III opponents.
Teresa Muldoon added 18 points and eight rebounds for SHAPE, which rebounded from the previous Saturday’s 30-27 loss to AFNORTH to improve to 11-1 for the season.
Rhett topped the scoring chart on Friday, too, striking for 15 points in the Lady Spartans’ 40-17 victory.
