Hold Marines accountable

Regarding the Jan. 18 article on this group of people who think we should let these Marines off easy/easier (“Group calls outrage over Marine video overblown”). I hope that not only are the Marines in the video under investigation but their noncommissioned officers/leaders as well. A failure to do something on their actions is a failure to lead.

As a leader you have to be on top of your game at all times. That means correcting situations and being the role model to follow. If you are not up for that task, then you need to step down and make sure the proper people are aware that you lack in that aspect.

I understand stress is hard and can be overwhelming, but we are the best military/organization and we need to act like it at all times. For us to lower our standards is not something that is accepted in the military. These Marines not only dishonored the Marines and all Marines before them, they made the entire USA look like a bunch of idiots. So these individuals need to be made an example of so that future Marines take note that there are consequences for their actions.

People said, “Well the terrorists do it, they kill and defile.” They are right, they did and now they face their consequences. They are dead.
