Fayetteville State University will again host the Boots to Suits conference for human resources professionals and hiring managers this year.
In its third year, many aspects of the conference remain the same, including the keynote speaker, retired Army Lt. Col. Lisa Rosser.
Rosser has been the speaker at each of the previous Boots to Suits conferences. She is the founder and chief executive officer of the Value of a Veteran group and has done extensive work helping organizations recruit and retain veterans.
One change this year is the location of the conference, which will move from Fayetteville to N.C. State's McKimmon Conference and Training Center in Raleigh.
The conference, set for Sept. 11, will run from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
FSU's Department of Social Work and Military Professional, Personal and Family Development Program has organized the conference.
Officials with that department said it is "geared toward collaborating with human resources professionals and hiring managers on why veterans and spouses are an asset to any company or organization and encourages them to adopt military-friendly hiring practices."
Registration costs $249, but early-bird rates and group rates are available through Friday.
