Texas man to be sentenced for soliciting child porn while deployed to La.

A Horizon City, Texas, man is expected to be sentenced on Jan. 10 after he admitted to soliciting child pornography online, while he was in Louisiana on temporary duty with the military.

Texas Rangers and Homeland Security Investigations agents arrested Justin Christopher Holmes last year after tracing a Craigslist ad to a phone number registered to Holmes.

According to a criminal complaint affidavit filed in federal court, on July 31, 2012, an undercover agent engaged in an email chat with Holmes. The chat was initiated from a Craigslist ad stating Holmes was looking for a man with a daughter.

"...(I)f you do not have a daughter do not contact me if you do let's play," the ad stated.

According to the affidavit, Louisiana State Police subpoenaed Craigslist records for the source of the ad, and linked the post to Holmes' cellphone number. Law enforcement officials then traced the phone number to Holmes' address in Horizon City.

During chats with the undercover agent, Holmes requested nude images of a 15-year-old girl and instructed the agent on how to obtain them, the affidavit states.

Federal agents and Texas Rangers later executed a search warrant at Holmes' address, and found several images of child pornography on a laptop found inside of a Nissan Sentra pickup truck parked in Holmes' garage.

The affidavit states Holmes told agents about the child pornography on the laptop computer, and admitted to receiving and distributing images of child porn to other people. He also admitted to posting the Craigslist ad.

In September, Holmes pleaded guilty to a document called an "information" charging with one count of solicitation of child pornography.

Government officials are also seeking the forfeiture of two HP laptop computers from Holmes.

A federal solicitation of child pornography charge carries a sentence between 15 and 30 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine. Holmes has been jailed without bond since his arrest.
