A command master chief petty officer was relieved of his duties Friday because of misconduct, Navy officials said in a news release.
A Navy investigation determined that Command Master Chief Petty Officer Bryan Bymer of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 12 admitted to fraternization at a previous duty station. The incident occurred before Bymer's promotion to command master chief petty officer, Navy spokesperson Lt. Liza Dougherty told the Navy Times earlier this week. The publication also reported that Bymer's previous post was in Guam.
Bymer has been temporarily reassigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group 2, and a replacement command master chief for EOD Mobile Unit 12 has not yet been named, the release said.
