A new education center has opened at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, offering servicemembers a range of military and civilian learning opportunities.
The LSA Education Center officially opened last week. Until now, servicemembers at the base had to travel to one of five other education centers at U.S. installations in Kuwait.
The center offers all military testing; undergraduate college courses from Central Texas College Europe and the University of Maryland University College Europe; education counseling; and tuition assistance, among other services.
Staff will also offer a course designed to improve troops’ Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery scores, which are one component of promotion boards and entrance into officer candidate school.
The center is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is open for testing and appointments on Saturdays, but closed on Thursdays.
