U.S. military officials: Arrested soldier is not a spy
The 22-year-old Army specialist who was arrested in Alaska on espionage charges did not have access to sensitive classified material and is not a spy, according to an NBC News story citing U.S. military officials.
Spc. William Colton Millay, a military policeman, was not deployed with his unit and was reportedly upset and allegedly offered to sell classified information to an undercover police officer, the article said.
Government officials deny the rumors that Millay’s arrest had anything to do with WikiLeaks, according to NBC.
