Program addressing sexual assault to tour Army bases

The U.S. Army has rescheduled performances of its touring program aimed at preventing sexual assault, officials said.

Performances of “Sex Signals” are scheduled for bases in Germany and the Benelux from July 20-Aug. 6. They were initially slated for European bases in April, but were postponed due to flight cancellations following volcanic eruptions in Iceland.

“The show combines improvisation, humor, and audience participation in an honest discussion about the otherwise difficult and serious matter of sexual assault and sexual harassment,” according to a U.S Army Europe release.

The program started in 2008, when the Army contracted with Catharsis Productions, whose owners had created the “Sex Signals” show 10 years ago for college and university audiences. This year’s tour is the second at Army bases in Europe.
