YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — The Christmas season officially kicked off Wednesday for many at Yokota as residents came together for the annual lighting of the base Christmas tree.

The event included a variety of holiday music and even a visit by Santa Claus.

Here are some other Christmas tree lightings scheduled on bases across the pacific:

Mainland Japan:

Yokosuka Naval Base, 4 p.m., Thursday at the Red Brick Courtyard

Ikego Housing Area, 4 p.m., Thursday at the Main Gate

Negishi Housing Area, 4 p.m. at the the Community Support Center

Sagami Depot, 6 p.m., Thursday

Naval Air Facility Atsugi, 5 p.m., Dec. 7 at Alliance (Prowler) Park

Okinawa:

Torii Station, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Friday at the Main Gate

Kadena Air Base, 2-8 p.m., Saturday at Schilling Parking Lot

Korea:

U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan, 5 p.m., Dec. 5 next to South Post Fire Station

Camp Red Cloud, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Dec. 5 at Freedom Hall

Camp Walker, 6 p.m., Dec. 5 at the Camp Walker Chapel

Camp Casey, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Dec. 6 at Gateway Park

Camp Carroll, 6 p.m., Dec. 6 at the Camp Carroll Chapel

Hannam Village, 6 p.m., Dec. 7 at the Hannam Village Front Gate Circle

Osan Air Force Base, 5:30 p.m., Dec. 7 outside the base theater

K-16, 6 p.m., Dec. 9 in front of the CAC Building
