Emergency personnel are searching for a missing airman last seen Monday along Guam’s northern coast.

Very little information was available, a Coast Guard statement said the airman is believed to have entered the waters off Tarague Beach in the early morning hours.

The name of the airman is being withheld. KUAM News reported his age at 23 and said a call for help originally came in to Andersen Air Force Base Security at 4:45 a.m.

The Coast Guard is coordinating a search that includes jet skis, rescue swimmers, helicopters and small boats from Andersen Air Force Base Fire Rescue, Guam Fire Rescue, Guam Police Department, the Navy, Coast Guard Station Apra Harbor and Coast Guard Cutter Washington.
