CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — The Marine Corps is looking into the death of a Marine who was found unresponsive in his barracks room Tuesday morning at Camp Kinser in Okinawa.

The 3rd Maintenance Battalion Marine, whose name was not released pending next-of-kin notification, was pronounced dead at U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa at approximately 6:40 a.m., according to a Marine Corps statement. No other details were available.

“The 3rd [Marine Logistics Group] is saddened by the loss of one of its Marines, and we send our condolences to family and loved ones,” the statement said. “The cause of death is currently under investigation.”
