North Korea: Ready to go to war with US, South Korea
As a joint exercise in South Korea with 2,100 U.S. troops kicked off Monday, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ordered his troops to retaliate should “the enemy” cross into North Korean waters, according to CNN.
CNN reported that North Korea's KCNA news agency states there are hundreds of thousands of troops ready for war and Pyongyang believes the joint exercise are practice for a preemptive strike on North Korea.
KCNA also reported that Kim Jong Un spoke to his troops while visiting units in the Southwest of the country, including the unit that fired upon a South Korean island in November 2010, according to CNN. The attack killed two civilians and two marines allegedly in response to a South Korean military drill in the area.
Washington insists the exercise known as “Key Resolve” is unrelated to any geopolitical events as reported by CNN.
