Former GI, South Korean singer reunite in U.S.

Ronald Lewis, a former soldier stationed in South Korea, reunited with South Korean pop star Insooni Saturday in the U.S., according to The News Journal in Delaware.

The two met nearly 40 years ago and got back in touch a few months ago when the singer – known as “the Tina Turner of South Korea” -- sought help from the U.S. military to find Lewis, whom she credits for much of her success.

The two had talked over the phone since then but met in person for the first time in decades Saturday in Delaware, where Lewis now lives.

“I never forgot his eyes," Insooni said, according to the AP.
