NORFOLK, Virginia — A judge found Austin T. Greening guilty of second-degree murder Thursday in the March 2013 shooting death of a friend.
The victim, Kristopher Klubert, 24, was an Ohio native living in Virginia Beach at the time.
Both men were in the Navy.
They had been playing video games at Greening's home in the 7600 block of Gifford St., according to Amanda Howie, a spokeswoman for the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.
Greening, 23, maintained that the gun went off by accident.
Circuit Judge Junius Fulton also found him guilty of a related weapons charge.
He will be sentenced June 6.
