McClintock takes helm of Navy's Commander, Task Force 67
U.S. Navy Capt. Michael McClintock took command of Commander, Task Force 67 during a ceremony at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily, a Navy news release said Friday.
McClintock replaced Capt. Daniel Schebler on Thursday as commodore of CTF 67, which is responsible for tactical control of deployed maritime patrol and reconnaissance squadrons throughout Europe and Africa.
“This ceremony is a celebration of everything we have achieved as a task force,” Schebler is quoted as saying in the release. “It’s a day to look back and be proud, but more importantly a day to look forward to the future.”
Rear Adm. Kenneth “K.J.” Norton, deputy chief of staff for strategy, resources and plans at U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, presented Schebler with a Legion of Merit during the ceremony.
“Commodore Schebler, you have left an amazing legacy in your wake,” McClintock is quoted as saying. “... I look forward to the leadership and expertise the task force has to offer over the coming years.”
