Movie star makes good on promise to Marine, attends ball

Sgt. Scott Moore arguably had the most talked-about date for this year’s U.S. Marine Corps Ball.
In Hollywood circles anyway.
Through a proposal delivered on YouTube.com while he was deployed in Afghanistan earlier this year, Moore scored a date with TV and movie star Mila Kunis.
The actress RSVP’d through the press and sure enough showed Friday night at the Marine Corps Ball in Greenville, N.C. (A process that endured its share of Hollywood speculation.)
The annual formal-dress event is held by Marine units around the world in November to celebrate the service's birthday. The ball typically plays out like a military prom – evening gowns, dress uniforms, dinner, dancing, drinking.
Two photos of Moore and Kunis – wearing a conservative black dress and her hair in a bun – were released by the Marines Saturday. Apparently no outside media were allowed inside the event.
A spokesman for the actress said: "Everything went well. It was a great experience for everybody,” Access Hollywood reported.
Moore’s YouTube pitch to his dream date this summer was short and sweet, straightforward and light-hearted.
His charming (and successful) shot in the dark seemingly inspired some fellow troops to ask other notables – from U.S. women’s soccer goalie Hope Solo to actor-singer Justin Timberlake – to annual military formals this year.
Timberlake reportedly made good on his promise to Marine Cpl. Kelsey De Santis last weekend. Ooh-rah!
