Military releases last volume of manga on U.S.-Japan alliance

YOKOTA AIR BASE, JAPAN — U.S. Forces Japan on Wednesday released the last volume in a four-book set of Japanese-style comics aimed at educating Japanese about the U.S.-Japan security alliance.

The manga, titled “Our Alliance — A Lasting Partnership,” focuses on two main characters, Arai Anzu, a Japanese girl, and Usa-kun, a boy visiting Japan from the U.S. The two characters explore and learn about the U.S. military in Japan. The final volume focuses on the role of the U.S. Air Force in Japan and its relationship with the Japan Air-Self Defense Force.

Like previous issues, the manga is written in Japanese only and will be available, in hard copy, on U.S. military installations in coming weeks, according to a USFJ news release.
