The non-combat death of a 21-year-old soldier at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan is under investigation, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
Pfc. Joshua A. Gray of Van Lear, Ky., died Monday in a non-combat-related incident, the DOD said in a news release.
Gray was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.
The Associated Press reports that Gray was a satellite communications system operator maintainer who joined the Army in November 2012 and deployed to Afghanistan in January.
