Al-Qaida down, but not out in Pakistan
What seems like the downfall of the al-Qaida terrorist network started with the killing of Osama bin Laden last year, and has been punctuated by the continued U.S.-led drone attacks dwindling the network of its leaders, Reuters reported.
Additionally, al-Qaida's financial coffers seem to be drained, forcing leaders to travel on motorcycles instead of plush Land Cruisers, for example, Reuters quoted a commander from the Pakistani Taliban, which is close to al-Qaida.
However, the deaths of network leaders have not rendered Pakistan, or neighboring Afghanistan, any safer, Reuters reported in an analysis report on al-Qaida losing power.
