Lakenheath senior NCO faces court-martial for rapes
RAF MILDENHALL, England — A senior noncommissioned officer at RAF Lakenheath, England, is charged with raping a female airman in 1994 and 2008 and faces court-martial in June, according to the 48th Fighter Wing.
Chief Master Sgt. Roy A. Bowser Jr., assigned to the 48th Communications Squadron, was charged Feb. 27 with rape in 1994 at or near Soesterberg, the Netherlands, according to Bowser’s charge sheet and a wing spokesman. He also is charged with obtaining sex by threat of death or violence, sodomy and shoving the alleged victim in 2008 at or near Bolling Air Force Base, Washington D.C.
“Bowser is currently working for the 48th Mission Support Group where he is supporting base-wide projects,” Staff Sgt. Thomas Trower, a spokesman for the 48th Fighter Wing, wrote in an email.
Bowser’s court-martial is scheduled to start in early June.
