Fire destroys Navy Exchange warehouse in Middle East

MANAMA, Bahrain — A fire destroyed a small Navy Exchange warehouse in Jebel Ali, Dubai, on Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported.

The approximately 300-square-foot building contained mostly Navy Pride-themed merchandise and sporting goods for the exchange in Jebel Ali, according to Navy Exchange Service Command officials. They said the fire will have a minimal effect on distribution.

The NEX is working on options for a replacement warehouse.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and NEX officials are assessing the cost of the damage.
