RAF MILDENHALL, England — A suspicious package found Monday afternoon in the post office on RAF Mildenhall was determined several hours later not to pose any danger, base officials said in a news release.

The post office, nearby bowling alley and base exchange were closed for after the package was discovered about 1 p.m. The exchange was later reopened, but officials had asked base residents avoid the post office and bowling alley during the incident.

Security forces, police, base fire department personnel and the RAF Lakenheath Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit were on scene.

All services affected are now open and observing their regular hours, the release said.
