TKS outage scheduled for Thursday morning

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — Construction at Ramstein Air Base will cause a brief outage Thursday morning for Telepost Kabel-Service that will affect U.S. installations across Germany.

In a news release Tuesday, TKS said the network outage would occur between 6 and 10 a.m. and would last no more than 30 minutes. It will affect TKS customers only, including subscribers of Surf’n’Talk (on-post TKS cable Internet and phone), and TKS cable television channels. The service will restart automatically, TKS said.

Unrelated construction at Ramstein will require rerouting the primary TKS telecommunications trunk, which will affect all installations downstream of the main distribution node at Ramstein, TKS said.

Customers who experience any technical issues after 10 a.m. should report them to the TKS Customer Service Hotline at: 01804-857762 (20 euro cents per call).
