Hundreds of kids attend Dr. Seuss event at Landstuhl library

Army Col. Barbara Holcomb reads Dr. Seuss' "The Foot Book" to a young audience Saturday morning at the Landstuhl library. The library was swarming with children who turned out to celebrate the life and works of Theodor Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, whose birthday was on March 2.

Hundreds of kids turned out Saturday for the Kaiserslautern Military Community’s celebration of Dr. Seuss.

The event at Landstuhl library included various readings from his many books, Dr. Seuss crafts, face painting and a puppet show.

The famed children’s author, whose real name was Theodor Geisel, was born March 2, 1904. Child, Youth and School Services and the libraries in the Kaiserslautern Military Community hosted the event.
