American Forces Network cable television channels will be assigned new broadcast frequencies in Grafenwoehr on Wednesday, which will require cable customers to reset their television to continue receiving AFN on cable, according to service provider TKS.

TKS customers in family housing areas and in general facilities will need to make the changes, which do not apply to AFN viewers in Grafenwoehr’s barracks facilities, where analog AFN TV broadcasts will be decommissioned at that time.

The channel realignment is part of a comprehensive TKS network upgrade that will bring new features as well as enhanced security and performance specifications to the USAG Grafenwoehr’s cable television network, according to TKS.

On Wednesday morning, it will appear as though AFN channels have gone off-the-air. Retuning the television set or performing a “scan for all available channels” will recapture all of the AFN channels at their newly assigned broadcast frequencies, according to TKS.

On-post viewers experiencing AFN reception problems can call the 24-hour TKS customer service hotline : 01804 857 762 .
